My daughter’s are both in love with Frozen, and because we had a film screener we have seen it nearly 20 times so far. And of course the soundtrack is memorized so I have had “You Want to Build A Snowman” in my head for at least 2 months. But I can’t believe the phenomenon and craze this film has caused. I don’t remember feeling this way about the Little Mermaid – my version of Frozen. My daughter and her friends play “Frozen” all the time at school. They draw Frozen pictures and of course my girls have the costumes. My daughter’s were never scared of the film; having a mother as a writer they know every story has a protagonist and antagonist. Now if they would just make a fairy tale where they woman are not so svelte and perfect we would be in good shape.

It is like my single friends who say I want to get married and just be happy, when I have to remind them happiness and marriage do not always go hand in hand.

And on that subject as I have been reading my daughter’s the real fairy tales I must admit they are a bit evil. But of course I have my favorites like The Little Match Girl. And sometimes it is good to see some evil.
