There is nothing more devastating than when your beautiful diamond ring wont fit on your puffy fingers a moment longer.  Jewelers have told me that it wasn’t a good idea to keep resizing my vintage ring.  So I just wore my rings as long as I could.  Shoving them on my fingers too sad to part with them. Luckily at 6 months pregnant I can still wear my rings.  But I have 4 months to go.  So I loved the site Ring My Neck which lets you actually wear your diamond to delivery and beyond.  Safely around your neck.  Genius.  Even if it does remind you of when Carrie Bradshaw wore her beautiful Asher cut diamond ring from Aidan on a chain around her neck because she “wanted it closer to her heart”.  But mostly because it felt like a shackle on her finger.

Jamie Waller started Ring My Neck when her pregnant friends began swelling out of their wedding rings.  After doing some research, she learned that 75% of pregnant women suffer from Edema (swelling) beginning in the 5th month of their pregnancy. It is such an emotional time, a time when women are especially attached to their partner, their marriage, and the ring that symbolizes that.

After a short while, other women became interested in Ring My Neck.  There are many professions that don’t allow women to wear their rings- doctors, aestheticians, nurses, hairstylists, massage therapists, etc.  Many women also choose to not wear a ring when playing golf, gardening, or cleaning.  So many people have heirloom rings sitting in their jewelry boxes with no way to wear that ring that was so special to their grandmother. Due to medical conditions some woman can no longer wear the ring that has meant so much to them over the years.  There are so many uses other than the original plan to design it for pregnant women!

With Ring My Neck there is finally a way to wear your sparkler when you can’t wear it on your finger!
